The Downtown Gallery is open to the public, and no admission fee is charged. The Downtown Gallery is available for meetings, luncheons, lectures, and other functions. Please contact the gallery staff |
Gallery Hours: Wednesday-Friday* 11:00am-6:00pm *On the first Friday of every month, the Downtown Gallery will remain open until 9:00pm. |

The University of Tennessee's Downtown Gallery is located next to the historic Emporium Building, at 106 South Gay Street in downtown Knoxville. The concept for locating an auxillary gallery in a replenished urban area was advanced by Paul Lee, Director of the School of Art, and enthusiastically supported by Philip Scheurer, then Vice President of Operations for The University of Tennessee. The Downtown Gallery stands as an attestation to the University of Tennessee's commitment to the betterment of Knoxville's cultural environment. |
